About EdFest

Mission: To run low cost and scalable open national professional learning events relevant and accessible in time, content and via mode of delivery to Australian educators nationally.

Vision: Share, showcase, support and model education best practice, contemporary learning strategies and tools, teaching and professional learning aligned to AITSL Australian professional Standards for Teachers and Australian Curriculum implementation.

The first EdFest event was an online professional learning conference broadcast live on January 27th 2015. View the #EdFest15 recordings and presentation materials.

EdFest in action

The day long event featured 14 half hour presentations from ACARA, ESA, AITSL, the Asia Education Foundation and more on a wide range of topics including;

  • The role of play based learning across F- 10
  • Contemporary models for learning
  • Teacher professional learning practices
  • Australian Curriculum implementation and much more

The #EDfest15 tag trended nationally throughout the day. There were over 4,000 visitors to the Edfest page during the course of the day (and over 9,000 new visitors to the site during of the EdFest promotion period) which included visitors from 74 countries!

The event’s recording had over 1000 views in its first 12 hours and the EdFest Network in Scootle Community which features all of the conference presentation materials as well as presenter interviews and many more extras has over 2000 members. Join the Scootle Community EdFest Network.

Planning for future online professional learning events under the EdFest name has continued since including a recent engagement survey.
